5th Water Loop (Hot Springs Trail)

5th Water Loop is an incredibly fun and scenic ride from Diamond Fork Canyon! The climb is great fun, it has many stream crossings, and enough technical spots to keep you on your toes! It is the perfect combination of climbing and descending! Elevation gain is just over 2,000' in seven miles. The only drawback is the cattle that ranges in the area. You have to keep a sharp eye out if you want to avoid their pies. After climbing to the paved highway, head north up and down a few hills to the 5th Water Trailhead (signed). Start the great descent on doubletrack, which soon turns to killer singletrack, then just after the falls, stop and soak you tired muscles in the hot springs....(the hot springs are clothing optional).

How to get there: Until October 1st of 2004 you are going to have to continue 10 miles past Diamond Fork, up Spanish Fork Canyon, to eh turn off to Strawberry. Head north about 9 miles until you come to the signed trailhead for 5th Water. The government lost it's tunnel boring machine to a cave in, and have had to set back the reopening date of Diamond Fork Canyon above Monks Hollow.
