Germania Pass

Germania Pass is an incredible hill climb surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the Wasatch Mountains!  The climb is tough and relentless from the very start! The ride takes you above Cecret Lake, a high alpine lake nestled at the foot of Devils Castle.  Once past Cecret Lake you approach what appears to be the summit (between Sugarloaf 11,051 and Mount Baldy 11,068) conserve a little energy because this is not the top!!  One more meadow and small hill climb to the summit.  While on top be sure and take the trail to the South overlooking Mineral Basin and the back side of Mount Timpanogos. On the descent be on the lookout for loose rock and waterbars!  Also every time we have ridden this trail we have had the pleasure of viewing a couple of bull Moose in the large meadow about 1/2 way down!

How to get there: From I-215, take Exit 6 (look for the signs for the ski areas). Head east to Wasatch Boulevard. Follow the signs for Alta and Snowbird Ski Resorts up Little Cottonwood Canyon.  Park at the end of road, after passing through the town of Alta. (Just before the guard shack).
