Mill Creek Canyon Pipeline

Millcreek Canyon Pipeline is a relatively easy singletrack. For the most part it's down hill all the way from the trailhead, unless you didn't bring a shuttle vehicle!! There are a couple of tough spots. The trail narrows in a spot or two and those who don't like heights might get off and walk once or twice. This trail is heavily used by hikers/runners so please be careful and yield the right of way.  If you travel to the end of trail you will get a great view of the Wasatch Front and the Salt Lake Valley. The drop down Rattlesnake Gulch is an advanced descent, take care when leaving the trail via Rattlesnake Gulch. Millcreek Canyon Pipeline melts out early in the season, and parts of the trail stay open until late November, making it an excellent choice when other mountain trails are closed!

How to get there: From I-215 take Exit 3 (3900 South). Turn north on Wasatch Boulevard to 3800 South. Turn east at the Mill Creek Canyon sign. The trailhead is 5 miles up the canyon at Elbows Fork. (The gate at Maple Grove is closed until the first week in July.)

Mill Creek Canyon is a FEE area. Be prepared to pay $ 2.25 per car ( in 1998). This is collected when leaving the canyon. Before you bitch about having to pay...try the trails first!  They have done an incredible job with your money. This ride is worth a whole lot more then $ 2.25 !!

** The odd/even calendar days do not apply to the pipeline trail, it is open everyday **
