Mill D North Fork, Lake Desolation is a great singletrack up the east side of Big Cottonwood Canyon to Desolation Lake. It is a bit steep and technical in some spots, but well worth the effort!  The views from this trail are incredible!! This ride can be a stepping stone, to various loops in the area.

How to get there: From I-215, take Exit 6 (look for the signs for the ski areas). Head east to Wasatch Boulevard. At the second light, turn left up Big Cottonwood Canyon.  The trailhead is about 10 miles up the canyon The road widens with parking on the left hand side.
