Moab Rim

tiremark.gif (4100 bytes)

Moab Rim, right from the trailhead, is killer climb!  It climbs 900 feet in less then a mile with only one minor switchback on the way up! The slickrock steps are very tough, both up and down!! You'll be looking for a lower gear on this one, granny gear doesn't get quite low enough! Once on top the views are incredible, of both the Portal area and the town of Moab.  There is now a chair lift to take you to the top, but remember........LIFTS ARE FOR WIMPS!!!  Make sure you pick up a good map before exploring the top, lots of jeep roads and it's really easy to take a wrong turn.

How to get there: Turn off of Main Street in Moab onto Kane Creek Boulevard (next to McDonalds).  Follow Kane Creek for about 5 miles, the trailhead will be on the left.
