North Fork of the Provo

North Fork of the Prove is a great beginner ride! It follows a Jeep road through the lodgepole pine forest to the North Fork. Last summer half the bridge was washed out but you could still portage it easy enough.  Once across you will be in a beautiful grassy meadow, a perfect place for an afternoon nap! The trail is a little difficut to follow once your portage the North Fork, but just keep heading west and you'll come across it.

How to get there: Head east out of Kamas on highway UT 150 towards Mirror Lake. Just after crossing the North Fork of the Provo River, at 11.5 miles from Kamas, turn left at the sign for FDR 496.   Park here.

Trail Update:   As of the 26th of June 1999, the bridge across the North Fork of the Provo River has been washed out.  You can still portage it, but it's about mid-thigh deep and flowing fast...be careful!!!
