R.A.T. (aka The B.R.A.T.)

The R.A.T. or as it's also know, the B.R.A.T. Trail, stands for [Bromka's] Ride Around Timpanogos. The review that I have on Singletracktreks, follows Gregg Bromka's description as well as I was able. There are one or two "grey" areas in his description, but that's what makes for a great adventure!! I highly recommend picking up his new guide book, Mountain Biking Utah's Wasatch Front. Bromka is the undisputed king of trail guides in Utah! With that said....on to the review!!
The R.A.T. is NOT a ride for Intermediate riders. The R.A.T. will chew you up and spit you out, and you'll be vulture bait if you venture out unprepared. This is a MASSIVE ride. Mount Timpanogos does not give up her charms without a battle! If you would like to experience the beauty of Mount Timpanogos, and don't feel you're prepared for an all day epic, I highly recommend the Timpanooke Trail, it's the middle section of the R.A.T. Take a good long look at the topographical map, and the profile, sleep on it, then look at it again! The R.A.T. is another one of the rare and hard to find "uphill loops"!! The scenery, and the sweet, hidden sections of singletrack make the R.A.T. a worthwhile endeavor, if you're up for a challenge! Mount Timpanogos has many stories, click here to read some of the legends!
How to get there: Take 800 North in Orem, head up Provo Canyon 2 1/2 miles to Canyon Glen Park.
