Ridge Trail 157

Ridge Trail 157, like it's counterpart to the north, the Wasatch Crest Trail, Ridge Trail 157 is part of the Great Western Trail. But the similarities end there. 157 is like the evil twin brother to the Crest trail! So the crest trail has "puke hill", it's nothing compared to the climb from Mill Canyon Spring to Rock Spring (the high point). You will have to share 157 with numerous equestrians, fellow mountain bikers and our gas powered friends on their bikes! But the views of Mount Timp are well worth the visit, and the incredible stretches of singletrack are some of the best in the Wasatch Mountains.

How to get there: Take the Highland/Alpine exit off of I-15 and head east to American Fork Canyon. There is a $3.00 entry fee for a three day pass to use the canyon. Leave a shuttle vehicle at Tibble Fork reservoir. Head back up American Fork Canyon to the summit parking lot (on the right). The trail heads north across the road and is well marked.
