Stansbury Front Trail

Stansbury Front Trail
is one giant rollercoaster! Great single-track with lots of drops and
wild turns. Followed by gut busting climbs on loose rock! You will climb
out of and drop into about 5 different canyons on this ride. It's
only about 11 miles in length, but we found that to be a very deceiving
11 miles! With all the ups and downs it felt more like 20!
Again, as is usually the case with Tooele rides, we where all alone on
this one. No hikers, no fellow Mountain Bikers and no ATV's
(the trail is open to motorized use)
How to get there: On
this ride you may want to take along a shuttle vehicle. Take the first
vehicle West on Grantsville's Main Street. The road will curve to the
north. Watch for the sign "West Canyon Trailhead" which
is FDR 538. Drive about 4 miles to the trailhead. In the fall
of 1998 I was unable to reach the trailhead in my passenger car, the road
was to washed out. That's no problem though, just find a suitable pull
out and you ride the washed out road on your bike! Leave your vehicle
here and go back to the way you came to Grantsville. In Grantsville turn
South of 400 West for about 5 miles. Turn right (West) on South Willow
Canyon Road. The trailhead is well marked and is just above the Boy Scout
Campground.
