Description: Temple Mountain is another incredibly scenic ride in the San Rafael Swell. The remoteness and beauty make this a "must do" ride! Temple Mountain received it's name because it resembles temples built by the Mormon church elsewhere in Utah. As you ride around the mountain, you can see remnants of the uranium mining era. From old buildings and mine equipment to tailings and mining roads. The area is also rich in geology. Take a minute to explore the southwest side of Temple Mountain and find entire petrified trees embedded in the mountain side! Most of the mine shafts have been sealed off by the BLM, but a few on the east side are still active claims.

Length: 11 mile loop
