Wickiup and the San Rafael Swell are a very unique and beautiful area.  This ride lets you experience it first hand.  The open feel and remote location of the ride are a unique experience! The first half of the ride is mostly level with a gradual downhill. It starts out as a double track then turns to a singletrack then the last few miles are on a gravel road making for a fast downhill run!!  The trail ends at the Swinging Bridge park.

How to get there: Head west out of Green River on I-70 about 30 miles to exit 129. Turn right at the stop sign at the bottom of the on ramp.  There is a parking area immediately to your right.   Park here and head east on the dirt road, you will see the trail head about 25 yards on your left.  This ride needs to have a shuttle vehicle or you will be faced with a long up hill climb back to your car!

We had the opportunity to ride this trail with MECCA and their annual San Rafael Swell Mountain Bike Festival.   You will not find a better group of people to ride with! I highly recommend joining them next year at their festival.  It will be more then worth the $ 40.00 registration fee (in 1999).  They can be reached at:
